Who We Are

BookBridge Foundation

BookBridge Foundation is a school focused community initiative that encourages students to share and reuse textbooks within their own school networks.

The idea was inspired by Atharva Singh, a Class 11 student, who observed that thousands of perfectly usable textbooks go unused each year ,while many families face rising education costs.

His simple question sparked the movement:

"Why can't seniors pass their books to juniors?"

This idea was transformed into a structured digital platform by Manvendra Singh, a technology professional, who designed the system to make textbook sharing simple, organized, and safe within school communities.

The platform was technically developed and implemented by Ashutosh Singh & Chandan Chaurasia, Web Developer, who built the digital infrastructure for seamless listing, matching, and communication.

BookBridge Foundation is proudly supported and funded by Dugra Prasad & Sons Charitable Trust, which promotes education, sustainability, and value-based community initiatives.

Why Sharing books

Every year, thousands of school books are used for just one academic session and then left unused, stored away, or discarded. This practice increases a heavy burden on our environment.

At BookBridge, we believe sharing school books is a small act with powerful impact.

Producing new books requires trees, water, energy, and transportation—each contributing to deforestation and carbon emissions. When books are shared and reused, fewer new books are printed, which means:
  • • Fewer trees cut
  • • Less paper wastes
  • • Reduced carbon footprint

Book sharing extends the life of educational resources. One book can support many students over multiple years, turning education into a sustainable cycle rather than a one-time use system.

When children participate in sharing:
  • • They learn empathy and responsibility
  • • They understand the importance of reuse
  • • Sharing books builds kinder children and a cleaner planet.

Children grow up seeing real examples of reuse, care, and social responsibility. These early lessons shape them into conscious, ethical adults.

Book sharing connects parents and students within the same school, encouraging cooperation, trust, and a culture of helping one another.

Sharing a book may seem simple but multiplied across families and schools, it becomes a powerful movement for environmental protection, value based learning, and community building. Because when books are shared, knowledge grows, waste reduces, and humanity moves forward.
