How One Student’s Question Started a Movement

Every year in India, millions of perfectly good school textbooks are shelved, forgotten, or thrown away while thousands of students struggle to afford the same books. Atharva Singh, a Class 11 student from Uttar Pradesh,india ,saw this happening in his own school and asked one question that would change everything: "Why can't seniors just give their books to juniors?"      

🌱 The Question That Started It All

It was the end of the school year. Students were packing their bags and moving to the next class.

Many books were still in good condition, but they were being kept aside, forgotten, or thrown away.

At the same time, many students needed those same books.

Then Atharva asked a simple question:

 “Why can’t seniors give their books to juniors?”

 It was not a big idea.
 It did not need money or technology.
 It just needed awareness and a small change in thinking.

📚 Understanding the Problem

Atharva noticed two things:

•   Some students had extra books they didn’t need
•   Other students needed those same books

 On one side, books were being wasted.
 On the other side, students were struggling.

The problem was not lack of books, the problem was that people were not connected.

Instead of ignoring the idea, Atharva thought about a solution.

The idea was simple:

• Seniors finish their exams
• They pass their books to juniors
• Juniors use those books and continue the cycle

This creates a chain where books keep moving from one student to another.

🌍 More Than Just Saving Money

This idea was not only about saving money.

It also helps in:

• Reducing paper waste
• Saving trees
• Protecting the environment
• Teaching students to share

It became more than an idea it became a meaningful movement.

🤝 The Start of BookBridge Foundation

This simple thought became the base of BookBridge Foundation.

The goal is to connect students within the same school so they can share books easily.

The message is simple:

“Seniors se kitaabein lo… Juniors ko kitaabein do.”
(Take books from seniors, give them to juniors)

💡 One Small Thought Can Change Everything

Atharva’s question teaches us something important:

• Big changes don’t always start big
• Small ideas can create big impact
• All it takes is asking — “Why not?”
